BANGA IRRIGATION SCHEME
Banga Irrigation Scheme is in Chivi District, Masvingo Province and was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2020 through IFAD’s Small Holder Revitalization Program me (SIRP) under Tender No.40/ZIMB/SIRP/31072020.
THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF REHABILITATION OF THE IRRIGATION SCHEME WERE AS FOLLOWS:
- Maintenance of Water outlet at Dam
- Repair an existing 300mm AC conveyance pipeline – fix leaks; eroded foundation; replace fittings and flushing the pipeline
- Supply and fix infield irrigation equipment for piped surface system Ancillary infrastructure:
- Supply and install diamond mesh wire and accessories, 5km
- Maintain the existing main gravel roads: scheme perimeter road and infield road
- Construction of BVIP latrines
This goes well in line with the below scope of works of the Irrigation Scheme which included :
- Conveyance pipeline-maintenance of head works equipment
- Installation of the main pipeline and pipeline fittings-infield
- Tertiary connection to mainline and Tertiary line fittings
- Lateral connection
- Opening and shaping of infield roads and drains
- Construction of 6 double compartment toilets
- Fencing of 6,5km Scheme Perimeter with diamond mesh
CHISUMBANJE RESEARCH INSTITUTE
Chisumbanje Research Institute is an Irrigation Experimental Institute in Manicaland province and was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2019 under Tender No. MLAWCRR/DRSS/CB/13/2018
Its scope of works was as listed below:
- Construction of trapezoidal canal
- Land leveling of six blocks of land
- Canal embankment and
- Main canal ancillary works
KATSVENZVE IRRIGATION SCHEME-MASHONALAND WEST PROVINCE
The Irrigation Scheme was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2018 and is in Mashonaland West Province.
The Scope of works was as follows:
- Mainline pipe networking
- Pump house construction
- Electrification of the Scheme
- Infield roads construction and
- Fencing of the Irrigation Scheme
NHEMA IRRIGATION SCHEME
Nhema Irrigation Scheme is in Masvingo Province and was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2018 under the same Tender No. MLAWCRR/IRRIG/33/2018 with St. Joseph Irrigation Scheme -awarded as Lots.
The works at Nhema Irrigation Scheme consisted of:
- Construction of a pump house
- Construction of a guard house and toilets
- Construction of a mainline
- Supply and installation of pivots and infield equipment
- Electrification of the Irrigation Scheme aa well as
- Fencing of the Scheme
ST. JOSEPH IRRIGATION SCHEME-MASVINGO PROVINCE
The Irrigation Scheme is in Masvingo Province and was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2018 under Tender No. MLAWCRR/IRRIG/33/2018
The scope of works at St. Joseph Irrigation Scheme consisted of Construction of an Earth Night Storage Dam and Supply and installation of ancillary works at the Irrigation Scheme. Pictured below are some of the works and the Geomembrane plastic sheeting for the Irrigation Scheme Earth Night storage dam lining:
NYANYADZI IRRIGATION PROJECT
Nyanyadzi Irrigation Project is in Manicaland Province and was awarded to Conardic Investments (Pvt) Ltd in 2019. It is one of the Irrigation Schemes which were picked by the Government of Zimbabwe for Rehabilitation after a number of Zimbabwe’s Irrigation Schemes were damaged by Cyclone Idai in the 2018-2019 rain season.
Its scope of works included the:
- Supply, delivery and rehabilitation of a 3km x 500mm mPvc and Steel pipe network.
- Construction of Anchors and Thrust blocks to support the water pipes since they pass through various bends and gulleys,
- Servicing of 2 X Kirloskar Vertical Turbine pumps as well as
- Desiltation of its Weir where around 4000m3 of silt were removed from the weir
NYABANGO IRRIGATION SCHEME
Nyabango Irrigation Scheme is in Mashonaland West Province and was awarded to us in 2018 under TENDER NO. MLAWCRR/IRRIG/32/2018
The scope of works included construction of a 500m3 Night Storage water tank (shown in picture below), construction of a pump house, PVC pipeline networking, supply, delivery and installation of pivots as well as fencing of the Irrigation scheme
BULAWAYO KRAAL
The scope of works included the Supply, delivery and Installation of Centre Pivots at Bulawayo Kraal Irrigation Scheme in Binga District- Matebeleland North Province-under Tender No.MLAWCRR/IRRIG/CB/16/17
The pivots were successfully installed and commissioned. Below are the pictures showing the Project at its various stages from the delivery of the pivots’ components up to the final stages of the installation.
